Splurge Where it Counts // Wedding Planning

Save the date 2

Weddings can be stressful, with so many to-do’s and so little time, they can become very time consuming. Even with an 18-month long engagement, tasks, decisions and the never ending to-do’s can sneak up on you. With my background and experience, planning a wedding or any event is something I absolutely enjoy, I love designing, creating and managing all aspects. And when it comes to the details, I am all for them, even if I am the only who will notice. Where most brides seem to get caught up is trying  to take on too many DIY projects or not knowing what to handle themselves versus having done by a professional.

A while back I raved about our photographer + videographer, Life and Love Studios, here. She put us at ease and made us feel comfortable during the 4 hour shoot. If there is one place to splurge, photography is definitely it. The photos are going to be the one piece of the wedding that will last longer than the big day. So go ahead and spend a little extra!

Another place to splurge and make your to-do’s a little easier is by having your save the dates and wedding invites done by creative professionals. I used minted.com for ours and I’m in love with their quality, they know how to do it right! Their standard paper and envelopes are a  heavier weight than most. We received so many compliments from our save the dates, one person almost threw it out because they thought it was an ad. Between the photography and the quality of the paper they seriously thought it was an ad – how crazy?!

These save the dates were all about the details, the thick, luxurious stock and the print quality really set them apart. Ordering our save the dates was so easy, the hard part was choosing a photo to use with the foil design I fell in love with! They even had an option to have all of the envelopes addressed for the same price, really making the whole process so easy and cost-effective.

Minted has so many great stationary, wedding and home decor items it’s hard to always stay focused on wedding tasks. With our move coming up in t-minus 2 weeks, I’ve been eyeing a few things for the new home : )

I can’t wait to move in and start decorating our new place with a few of these fun finds! Are you planning a wedding and having other major life changes go on at the same time? What are you taking on yourself versus letting the professionals handle?
