It’s been a while since a Simply Inspiring Boss Lady has been featured around here, but I’m so excited to bring you today’s #girlboss, Nicole Doumato, owner of the featured-based wedding blog, So This is Love.
Nicole is an awesome girl boss who not only runs this featured-based blog but also helps creative entrepreneurs with their content marketing strategies! Hello, done-for-you social media management!
Over the past two years, Nicole and I have become friends, with regular coffee meetups, Instagram chats, and lots of texts, this girl is a Simply Inspiring Boss Lady who is celebrating something exciting! So, without further ado, I’m pleased to introduce you to Nicole ????????
Simply Inspiring Boss Lady, Nicole, from So This is Love
Tell me a little bit about yourself, who is Nicole?
Hi! I’m Nicole! I’m the editor/founder of the feature based wedding blog So This Is Love. I’m a Florida transport by way of Rhode Island, I love the first few sips of a hot cup of coffee in the morning, my fiancé and our little, and living the laptop life as a creative entrepreneur!
Tell me about your brand/business
So This Is Love is a featured-based online publication that celebrates the modern day couple who just doesn’t do ‘cookie cutter’. I have celebrated, and embraced all of our couple’s adventures! Pop-Up Weddings, Courthouse Weddings, Off-the-beaten-path Elopements, Surprise Weddings, Rooftop Weddings, Cafe Weddings, City Weddings, Park Weddings, Greenhouse Weddings, Loft Weddings and Weddings that take place in an industrial space – our couples embrace their distinctive individuality and step out in their own personal style on their wedding day!! In addition to celebrating the modern day love story, So This Is Love is launching a vendor member directory so that we can connect our couples with vetted wedding industry professionals!!
How did you get started with So this is Love?
So This Is Love actually started as an online apparel shop for brides in 2013!!! In researching the best ways to market the line of apparel I stumbled upon blogging, from there So This Is Love evolved and took shape into the feature-based wedding blog that it is today!
You just recently relaunched your brand (how exciting?!) can you tell me about that journey?
The decision to rebrand and relaunch was a no-brainer! Nowhere in the original business plan included mapping out a brand or any part of the branding process, and that was a huge mistake!! I was so consumed with fears of isolating readers and members that I didn’t niche down and that, in turn, held the So This Is Love back. Once I noticed a pattern to the features that were in demand and the content that couples were consuming is really when the brand started to form. I had finally found what it is was that needed to be celebrated in the wedding industry. From there it was time to make it all come together with design and online presence!
What’s your favorite part about the new brand/site?
Gosh – so many things! I love that we were able to make the publication about connecting brides with vendors while providing them with the resources & inspiration they need to plan the ‘non-cookie cutter’ wedding of their dreams. I love how modern we were able to make the layout while also not having to worry whether or not the design wouldn’t translate in 3-4 years. I love the color palette, and most of all I love that we are able to continue showcasing our couples unique love stories and hi-light the amazing wedding pros who made their wedding day an experience of a lifetime!
What obstacles have you had to overcome to get the all-new So this is Love live?
I could write a book on this question alone!
I’m more of a creative in the sense that I love to produce, edit, and market content; I’m not really techy. The biggest behind the scenes obstacle was 100% making sure that the new vendor directory was up to par, easy to use, and the layout was on point and gorgeous! There was a ton of back and forth between me and my developer about custom CSS but we finally got it there!
As a featured based blog, what should wedding professionals know about So this is Love to get featured?
I think with any feature-based blog, wedding pros should always look for publications that best align with their brand values! There are so many amazing publications out there, both big and small, and each of them is unique in their own right. For So This Is Love – we are always on the hunt for weddings, styled shoots, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and proposal stories. Our main objective is to tell love stories in a way that is inclusive, our submission guidelines can be found on the blog at https://www.sothisislove.co/submissions/
