Last month I attended my first Rising Tide Society Tuesdays Together meet up in Fort Lauderdale and I met a really great group of creatives! There were many first timers and new faces across the entire group, but yet we all instantly clicked and opened up about our creative journey. Since last month’s meeting, I’ve seen us become friends, cheer each other on, provide feedback and share some lessons learned to assist fellow creatives.
After that meet up, I walked away feeling pumped and confident that I can do this! (Read more about my journey, self doubts and joining the movement here.) Feeling encouraged by those around me and my new friends, I made the commitment to refocus on my blog and make my dream happen. Like most, juggling a “9 to 5”, living life, focusing on family and trying to make this happen can be hard. real hard. And even worse than trying to balance it all, is getting caught up in the comparing game. We all know we shouldn’t do it, we all know it’s toxic, but yet, we fall into the trap and feel inept or inadequate when we start to compare our “failures to her success”. Instead, we must focus on being content with where we are at and remember this little saying:
dear dreamer, you’ll get there, but where you are today is good too
As I refocus and strive for a life of content, simplified living – curating, designing and sharing a unique story of my favorite things – I want to say thank you to all of you, yes YOU, following along and cheering me on. I seriously appreciate your support and being a cheerleader (even if you didn’t realize you were cheering me on)! Yay for community over competition, it’s amazing what we can achieve with a little support and encouragement!
