So where do I begin? Over the years I have compiled before and after photos of my condo, DIY projects and other craft-based designs that I’ve done, thinking one day it would be great for a blog… Well I guess that day is actually here. I’ve been saying it for a while now, but have been too busy with work, life and everything in between. But today I find myself with the time to get started and put pen to paper (or maybe it is more appropriate to say fingertips to keyboard).
To paint the picture I feel like we need to go back, back to 2007 when I moved to Jacksonville, Florida. I moved from South Florida and when I say South Florida I mean the tri-county area of Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade County. For those of you who don’t know Tampa is not considered South Florida! I can’t tell you how many times people have said “oh your from Tampa!” when I say I am from South Florida. Come on people I know that Tampa is south of Jacksonville, but really?! Yes, I am from the foreign country most up here like to call South Florida and yes I love it, all of it! From the melting pot of cultures (btw – the food places are so great down there, you really can’t go wrong!), the congested roadways to the gorgeous beaches and palm lined neighborhoods – what’s not to like?! Not to say I don’t love Jax – I mean I have made it my home for the past several years, but there is something magical about So Fl. Anyways I should probably get back to the point… I came up to Jacksonville to attend the University of North Florida (great school – I loved it!) and run Cross Country and Track & Field for the university. I moved in to my condo freshman year and meet my fiancé while running for UNF. I graduated with a degree in Marketing, went on to work at an IT company as a Marketing Coordinator and then tested the waters at an Ad Agency where I was an Account Executive (a fancy way of saying I was the middle man between the client and the agency). Decided it wasn’t a good fit and not for me, so here I am wondering where life will take me next. I’ve considered starting up an event planning business, going into real estate and of course am looking to see what other opportunities are out there, but in the meantime I’ve been busy with planning a wedding, organizing the house (it can never be too organized!), working out and enjoying the summer weather! I guess you can say I am enjoying life and honestly I love it!
I can’t wait to share with you some of the projects around the house, details for the wedding and the newest yoga pose I’ve mastered for the week. Stay tuned for the latest and greatest and feel free to share your story or little victory (whether it be fitness goals, DIY home improvement projects or a recipe you’ve mastered)!
