Hip hip hooray, today is the first day of fall! Wait… I forgot I live in South Florida, where it’s still 90 degrees and feels just as hot as summer. Although it’s hot like heck here in sunny rainy so flo, I am still eager to transition my wardrobe! And with a few key pieces, walking out of summer and into fall won’t be so hard, even if it is almost 90 degrees outside.

I love how easy it is to transition certain pieces from summer to fall, making a few adjustments to provide that fall look I’m craving (and wish we had more of!). If you’ve been following along, you know jackets are a must-have for me because I am always cold. ALWAYS! This is a total perk for the new season, because fall is all about layering.
To create this look for an evening out with the hubs, I grabbed a pair of old ripped jeans (yes, they’re back in style! Along with chokers, overalls and a few other items from the 80s and 90s), and the adorable block heels I picked up earlier in the year. Paired it with a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale find and instantly I became ready for fall.
